Plasma Pen

As we age, the layers of our skin become thinner. This is a result of our bodies producing less collagen, causing the dermal layer of our skin to begin to lose elasticity. These factors create sagging and wrinkling paired with early signs of aging. Decades ago, invasive surgery with incisions and sutures was thought to be the only alternative to turning back the clock—not anymore. At Skin Boutique in Metro Detroit, located in Birmingham, MI, we offer advanced options for achieving youthful, radiant skin. One of the most popular is The Plasma Pen, a device that targets various skin conditions, including loss of elasticity, sagging, and wrinkles traditionally treated with fillers or plastic surgery. This page is dedicated to the ins and outs of the world’s most advanced, non-invasive skin lifting, skin tightening, and regeneration device.

What is Plasma Pen?

The results are stunning, and the experience is comfortable for our patients; we are thrilled to witness Plasma Pen change lives with each treatment.

Who are the best
canidates for Plasma Pen?

  • Clients with eyelash extensions receiving upper or lower eyelid treatment must have lashes removed prior to treatment and reapplied after 8 weeks

What are the first
steps of Plasma Pen?

First Steps

If you are interested in Plasma Pen treatment in Detroit or the surrounding area, the first thing to do is schedule your consultation with Skin Boutique. During your appointment, you will meet with our skin specialists and ask any questions you may have about the procedure and express your desires for the outcome of your treatment. We will ask you some questions of our own regarding your medical history and evaluate your skin. Once our team has gathered the information needed, a treatment plan will be created for you, and our Patient Coordinator will help your schedule your first Plasma Pen session.

What to expect?

Plasma Pen Expectations

When you come in for your Plasma Pen treatment, a technician will clean your skin and apply a topical numbing cream to minimize pain and discomfort during the procedure. Then, we use the Plasma Pen device to deliver high-frequency electric current to the target area. Our highly trained and certified Plasma Pen technicians use the device to provide soft-surgery plasma fibroblasting (completely nonsurgical skin tightening treatment). The Plasma Pen will be used in the predetermined target areas with a handpiece that converts electrical energy into electrostatic energy, which is then transmitted to the applicator tip (the probe) by impulse. This energy produces a heating action that works on the skin’s surface to remove old, photo-aged, and damaged epidermal cells and stimulate collagen growth. The full procedure lasts about an hour, depending on the size of the treated area and our patients’ needs. After the procedure, we may apply a cooling gel to soothe the irritated skin.

Plasma Pen Recovery

The Plasma Pen has been known to be a safe treatment due to its non-invasive nature. There will be small dry spots that will form, which are called carbon crusts. These will flake off typically between 5-7 days, revealing new pink skin beneath. Some swelling in the eye area is to be expected for several days following an upper eyelid treatment. Aftercare topicals will be provided to achieve optimal results.
